CASSANDER ENSEMBLE

Cassander Ensemble is a chamber ensemble based in Trieste specialized in the performance of 20th century and contemporary music. It was born in the fall of 2018 from the collaboration of composer Davide Coppola with musicians from different European countries (Serbia, Spain and Italy). Stable conductor is Biagio Micciulla. Unique in its kind in the cultural scene of Trieste, the ensemble has already performed in Slovenia (Biennial of Contemporary Music of Koper 2018) and in Trieste (Conservatorio Tartini, Casa della Musica, Hangar Teatri) meeting with great success and interest. The aim of the ensemble, in addition to performing and rediscovering the modern repertoire, is to promote and deepen the contemporary musical language by proposing it alongside other arts and disciplines. Of fundamental importance is the choice to use the expressive means of electronic music (both recorded and in live electronics performance) and free acoustic and digital improvisation.
All this with a view to seeking new ways of listening and fruition for the public, to bring it closer and closer to the music of today.
